Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how billing, cancellation, and refunds work for paid plans on Skiml (the "Service"), operated by Futurus, LLC, doing business as Skiml ("Skiml," "we," "us," or "our"). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. If there is any conflict between this policy and the Terms of Service on the subject of billing, cancellation, or refunds, this policy controls.

1. The free plan
Skiml offers a free plan that does not require payment. If you only ever use the free plan, nothing in this policy applies to you, because you are never charged.
2. Paid plans and billing
We offer paid plans that unlock additional features (for example, removing the monthly save limit). Paid plans are offered in two forms:
- Pro, a recurring subscription billed monthly or annually depending on the option you choose at checkout.
- Lifetime, a single one-time payment for long-term access on the terms described at checkout.
All payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. The price, billing cadence, and any applicable taxes are shown to you at checkout before you confirm the purchase.
3. Automatic renewal of subscriptions
Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Each renewal is charged in advance, at the then-current rate for your plan, to the payment method on file. If we change the price of your plan, we will give you advance notice, and the new price applies at your next renewal unless you cancel before then.
4. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel a Pro subscription at any time, either in your account settings or by emailing us@skiml.io. When you cancel:
- Your cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
- You keep access to paid features until the end of that period.
- We do not charge you again after that period ends.
- We do not provide prorated refunds for the unused part of a billing period, except where required by law (see Section 6 for consumer cooling-off rights).
Cancelling does not delete your account or your saved content. If you also want to delete your data, see the deletion options described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Refunds (general rule)
Outside of the consumer cooling-off rights described in Section 6, payments for paid plans are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods and for Lifetime purchases after access has begun. This is the general rule, and it is subject to two exceptions:
- Where the law requires a refund. Some jurisdictions give consumers refund or withdrawal rights that cannot be waived. Where those apply, they override this general rule. Section 6 describes the main example.
- Billing errors and our discretion. If you believe you were charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge, or a charge after a timely cancellation), contact us@skiml.io within 30 days of the charge and we will investigate and correct genuine errors. We may also choose to grant a refund at our discretion in individual cases, which does not change the general rule for anyone else.
6. Right of withdrawal for consumers in the EEA, the UK, and similar jurisdictions
If you are a consumer (an individual buying for purposes outside your trade, business, craft, or profession) and you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that grants a statutory cooling-off period, you have a right to withdraw from your purchase of a paid plan within 14 days, without giving any reason. The 14-day period begins on the day after the day you entered into the purchase.
Because Skiml is digital content and a digital service that we make available to you immediately, the following applies:
- If you ask us to begin right away. At checkout, you may expressly ask us to start providing the paid features immediately, before the 14-day period ends. If you give that express consent, you also acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once we have begun providing the paid features. After we have begun, the 14-day withdrawal right no longer applies, and the general rule in Section 5 governs.
- If you do not ask us to begin right away. If you do not give that express consent, you keep your 14-day right of withdrawal. If you withdraw within the period, we refund all payments we received from you for that purchase within 14 days of being informed of your decision, using the same payment method you used to pay.
To withdraw within the period, send a clear statement of your decision to withdraw to us@skiml.io before the 14 days expire. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but you do not have to.
Nothing in this policy limits any statutory or mandatory consumer right that applies to you and cannot be waived by agreement.

7. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first at us@skiml.io. We can usually resolve billing issues faster than a bank dispute. Filing a chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension of your account while the dispute is investigated, because the disputed funds are reversed automatically by the card network.
8. Taxes
Prices may be shown exclusive or inclusive of tax depending on your location and applicable law. Any taxes shown at checkout are calculated and collected through Stripe. Refunds, where due, are issued for the amount actually charged, including tax, as required.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. The version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
