Install the Skiml extension
Updated JUL 18, 2026
Install Skiml from the Chrome Web Store, then sign in once and the extension is connected.
Install it
- Go to /extension, which opens the Skiml listing on the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome and confirm.
- Pin Skiml to your toolbar so the icon is always visible. Click the puzzle-piece extensions button in Chrome, then pin Skiml.
Skiml works in Chrome and other Chromium browsers, including Arc, Brave, and Edge. Firefox and Safari are not supported yet.
Sign in and connect
- Click the Skiml icon in the toolbar. The Skiml side panel opens on the right.
- If you are not signed in, the panel shows Sign in and Create an account. Click one.
- Finish signing in on the Skiml site. You can use Google, Microsoft, Discord, GitHub, email and password, or a one-time email code.
- The extension picks up your session automatically and the side panel switches to the clipping view.
Once connected, the Account tab in the side panel shows Extension connected along with your saves used this month.
Opening the side panel
Two ways, both do the same thing:
- Click the Skiml icon in the toolbar.
- Press
Ctrl+Shift+S, orCommand+Shift+Son a Mac.
That keyboard shortcut is a Chrome extension command, so you can change it at any time from Chrome's own shortcuts page at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
If the panel says you are signed out
The extension stores your session locally. If it drops, open the side panel, go to the Account tab, and sign in again. Your saved pages and briefs are stored on your account, so nothing is lost when the extension disconnects.
Next: save your first page.
